Asiacell mourns the death of its board member Mr. Basil Mahdi Al Rahim and his partner Mr. Abdullah Lahoud as a result of an unfortunate plane crash in Sulaimaniyah International Airport on the evening of Friday, the 4th of February 2011. Basil was an Iraqi investor that deeply loved his people and his country. He was an example of intelligence, loyalty and devotion and his loss will be truly felt across Iraq. We have lost a fellow citizen who was dedicated to building the future of his country. Abdulla was a young, decent, intelligent and ambitious man who had a bright future ahead of him. Asiacell also mourns the death of J.P Morgan employees Mr. Morad Michal, Chief Executive Officer for the MENA, Turkey and Central Aisa, and Mr. Javier Zurita, Managing Director. Asiacell is saddened by the tragic loss of the three flight crew members Captain Marwan, Captain Abdullah and crew member Stephanie. We express our deepest condolences to all the victims, families and friends and will remember this sad and tragic occasion.
