A cooperation agreement has been signed with the Acıbadem Healthcare Group towards the management and operations of the Medical City complex, established by the Faruk Group to provide modern healthcare services.
As per the agreement made by Faruk Mustafa Rasool, Chairman of the Board of Faruk Group, and Mr Mehmet Ali Aydınlar, Chairman of the Board of Acıbadem Healthcare Services Group, Turkey’s leading institution in private healthcare services, the Faruk Medical City complex’s management and operations will be carried out by Acıbadem. The agreement is of note in that it is the first in the field of private hospital management in the Middle East.
As per the agreement; the Acıbadem Healthcare Services Group will umdertake the management and operations of the Faruk Medical City complex being built to provide modern healthcare services in Sulaimani. The Acıbadem Healthcare Group will provide management and operations of Faruk Medical City for a period of 10 years.
Making a short announcement following the signing ceremonies, Faruk Mustafa Rasool stated that their goal was that Faruk Medical City was to firstly provide Sulaimani and the Iraqi people with modern medical services followed by providing these services to others in neighboring countries.
Indicating that they had made a large investment in the health sector, Rasool went on to emphasize the importance of a strategic agreement signed with Acıbadem, Turkey’s leading institution in private healthcare services, and indicated that they would greatly benefit of Acıbadem’s vast experience in the health sector.
Acıbadem Healthcare Services Group Chairman of the Board, Mehmet Ali Aydınlar went on to say that Turkey had great experience in the private healthcare services field and that as a result thousands of foreign patients came to Turkey specifically for treatment.
Faruk Mustafa Rasool and Mehmet Ali Aydınlar both expressed their well wishes to the Iraqi people on the signing of this cooperation agreement.
Faruk Medical City is a general hospital established in Sulaimani; the 192-bed hospital is equipped with advanced technology. Planned to open in December 2013, the hospital is expected to provide the highest in medical services first to Sulaimani and its’ neighboring provinces followed by the rest of Iraq. The hospital, fully staffed by Acıbadem’s experienced management team, is expected to receive JCI accreditation within 2 years. With physicians of international acclaim in medical circles, the hospital will provide services in all branches including robotic assisted surgery, bariatric surgery and cancer surgery.
